What is ADAS?

ADAS IS AN ACRONYM FOR ADVANCED DRIVER
ASSISTANCE SYSTEMS

ADAS is the latest technology for modern motor vehicles which offer drivers more control over their vehicles with built in sensors which provides information about the car's immediate surroundings. The purpose of ADAS is to assist drivers with enhanced safety features for everything from parking in tight spaces to monitoring blind spots, and include automatic emergency braking.

ADAS calibration or recalibration is the precise alignment of ADAS sensors any time an auto is involved in a collision, a windshield is replaced, or a change has been made in suspension, alignment, and in other repair services. Calibration is vehicle-specific and requires precise measurements by trained technicians in a controlled environment.

WHAT IS ADAS CALIBRATION?

COLLISION REPAIR FOR VEHICLES NOW REQUIRES ADAS CALIBRATION

When an ADAS-equipped auto is involved in a collision, or even a windshield is replaced, it is critical that the vehicle's ADAS sensors are checked and recalibrated for functional safety. In many cases, the sensors themselves are damaged and must be replaced.

Auto manufacturers have built powerful technology into vehicles to provide the ultimate in driver safety. There are various sensors throughout a vehicle including cameras, LiDAR, radar and other sensors. A vehicle collision, windshield replacement, suspension work or alteration can create a change of angle.
